LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing is ranked 10th among all nursing schools in the United States and 4th among public schools of nursing nationally. The 2018 rankings were just released by Nursing Schools Almanac.
According to Nursing Schools Almanac, its research team collected data on more than 3,200 nursing schools and campuses throughout the United States and evaluated each school on three dimensions:
The institution’s academic prestige and perceived value;The breadth and depth of nursing programs offered;
Student success, particularly on the NCLEX national licensure exam.They combined these assessments into an overall score and ranked the schools accordingly.
“This national ranking of our nursing school demonstrates our journey of excellence in nursing education while meeting the nursing workforce demands,” notes Demetrius Porche, DNS, PhD, FACHE, FAANP, FAAN, LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing Dean and Professor. “It was achieved through the dedication of our nursing students, faculty, staff, and alumni to our mission.”LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing has also been designated as a Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing.
